Toxic haze and fine suspended particles PM2.5

Fine suspended particles in the air with diameter of particles less than 2.5 μm, which is abbreviated as PM2.5.
The formation of PM2.5 is quite complicated, it is discharged from vehicles or dust, etc., or formed by various formation combined with multiple chemical reaction, such as SO₂; NO_x, and VOC, etc.

PM2.5 can directly enter and endanger human lungs. WHO has classified diesel exhaust and PM2.5 as Group 1 “carcinogenic to humans” in 2012 and 2013, and clearly pointed out that diesel exhaust causes lung cancer, it’s also the main culprits causes Taiwan's lung cancer to rank the 2^nd in Asia.

Pollution of PM2.5 and diesel exhaust are no longer just a simple air quality index (AQI) only. It is also the most focused and concerned issue of major cities around the world. To be able to reduce PM2.5 and toxic haze effectively, the most straight forward strategy is to retrofit diesel vehicles, NRMM, and installation of emission control system of marine engines operated in ECA, and stationary diesel engines as generator sets.
