Construction sites use a lot of large equipment and tools for excavation at land preparation stage before foundation being built.
Port equipment is also used for containers, cargos and raw materials handling including loading and unloading on and off the ships.

The construction equipment in Taiwan is mostly used equipment imported from Japan. Due to poor maintenance of used equipment, heavy black smoke emitted from diesel engine during construction, and polluted exhaust is causing the most direct and fatal carcinogenic impact to operators around construction equipment.

The German regulation of TRGS554 (1993) requires PM concentration and MAK during operation of forklift truck in the workplace must be less than 0.1 mg/m3. Particulate filter is mandated for all German forklift truck.
